CSE Comsource Undergoes 150% Growth, InspHire Software Implemented

CSE Comsource has experienced rapid growth over the past 18 months with new oil, gas & mining projects emerging in Australia. To cope with this expansion, we have implemented new enterprise software to ensure that our fleet management and customer care is maintained to our exacting standards. A recent article outlines the changes:

Melbourne, Victoria (PRWEB) December 10, 2012

The demand for new technology in two-way radio rental has created a 150% surge in growth for CSE Comsource. The leading telecommunications company has rapidly expanded as a result of the emerging oil, gas and mining projects within Australia. They recently implemented Elev8’s InspHire software, a specialised leasing program, into their rental & managed services business to cope with their growing fleet, while maintaining their high level of customer support. Richard Elderfield, General Manager of CSE Comsource remarks, “We were searching for a package that could grow with us. In the end it was easy to pick Elev8’s InspHire software, their program simply ticked all the boxes.”

Radio communications rental & managed services has been in high demand at CSE Comsource, with their fleet of hire assets growing as a result of newly surfacing resource projects within Australia. In particular, the demand for leading edge, digital two-way radio technology has seen their hire business grow by 150% over the past year and a half.

“It was only two years ago when we had about 7,000 radios,” says Richard Elderfield, General Manager for CSE Comsource, “but now we have over 10,500.” Until now, CSE Comsource employed a customized hire system which was cumbersome and costly to change with each growth spurt they encountered.

Richard continues, “Our rapid expansion made our previous system and tools obsolete. We needed a way to become more efficient to manage our larger asset pool.”

Implementing change while a business is expanding so quickly was a daunting task for Richard, who undertook a survey of all the available hire management packages available on the market.

“Elev8’s InspHire software was a frontrunner from the very start,” remarks Richard, “we met with the developers at Elev8 Australia, who were extremely detailed, proactive, and patient during our decision making process.”

Once the comparisons were completed, CSE Comsource selected InspHire by Elev8 Australia, a company whose focus is on implementing and supporting all business software needs. “We could tell that InspHire knew our industry. The out-of-the-box program promises great benefits” says Richard.

In order to transition smoothly, without compromising their customer focus, the rental & managed services company put Elev8 Australia under pressure to complete the changeover within 4 months. Elev8 Australia, who also have software and web developers on staff, achieved CSE Comsource’s deadline by going live on 30 October 2012.

“There’s always the odd hurdle here or there, including getting staff used to new systems,” Richard goes on to say, “but the advantages far outweigh those little niggles. The features and benefits we’ve seen so far have met our expectations. We expect to realise further advantages as we become more familiar with the software and receive the continued support of Elev8.”

Richard continues, “We see the switch to Elev8’s InspHire software as part of what will really set us apart in the telecommunications industry. We are now the most professional and capable rental & managed service support company in the Asia Pacific region.”

The migration to Elev8’s InspHire software was a significant evolution for CSE Comsource’s business processes and leapt their capabilities forward during a critical time of growth. With the InspHire software, they now have improved efficiency, which ultimately provides their customers with unparalleled levels of service and support. Richard remarks on their experience thus far, “The transactions are easier, documentation better, and information & reporting more clear. All of this enables us to monitor, review, and improve ourselves so we can better serve our customers.”

Richard comments, “As recognised industry leaders, we are known for investing in the ongoing development of our people and our business. Implementing Elev8’s InspHire software will help us to remain the leaders in providing peerless support to our customers.”

Narrowbanding Deadline Approaches

With the advancement of communications technology there has been an associated increase in demand on the available radio frequency spectrum. To more efficiently manage the available spectrum, The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has mandated that UHF mobile radio licensees operating in the 400MHz band migrate to at least 12.5kHz channel bandwidths.

The deadline for affected users varies according to location and specific usage, however, if you are located in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle or Adelaide and operating in the 400MHz band, it may be that you need to transition to the narrow bandwidth before 31 December 2012.

If this direction from the ACMA affects you, you may need to:
• Replace equipment that is only capable of operating on a 25kHz channel,
• Disable the 25kHz mode on existing two-way radio equipment,
• Make changes to your current frequency licences to accommodate the change.

Further information is available on the ACMA website at the following address:

CSE-Comsource has the knowledge, experience and resources to help you understand how this direction may affect you and provide advice and recommendations to manage the change within your business. Contact us now, as the deadline is rapidly approaching.

Cassidian TETRA terminal interoperability trial a success

CSE Comsource has successfully demonstrated the interoperability and functionality of Cassidian THR9-Ex and TMR880i TETRA two-way radios on a recently commissioned multi-site 400MHz TETRA network from another manufacturer. This success soundly demonstrates the TETRA standard requirement for interoperability across products, in particular multiple manufacturers’ infrastructure and two-way radios.

The demonstration occurred over the period 6th to 9th August 2012 at Chinchilla located in the Darling Downs region of Queensland. The trial consisted of rigorous field assessment, under operational conditions, with radios programmed with the required frequencies, call groups, and other client specific system features. The demonstration highlighted the ease of use and interoperability of the terminals and drew attention to the feature rich functionality that stands the Cassidian TETRA terminals apart from other products available in the Australian market.

Highlights discussed by users included the advantage of only learning one radio user interface across mobile, desktop, intrinsically safe and non-intrinsically safe products and access to a greater range of Ex-Rated ancillaries such as noise reduction headsets.
